-Doris Banks-Doris Banks, 84, of rural West Liberty, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Crestview Acres in Marion, IA. A funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Rev. Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church officiated the services. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Sympathy notes may be left for the Banks family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com Doris Stemm was born on January 8, 1923, in Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Vella (Brandt) Stemm. On November 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Banks in Bloomfield, Iowa. Doris was a devoted wife and mother and also had a great love for cats and dogs. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and farm life. Doris is survived by her son, Larry Banks of West Liberty; sisters, Dorothy Kostman and Martha Sundberg both of Cedar Rapids; three nieces, Shirley Starr and her husband, Dennis, of Cedar Rapids, Debra Foreman and her husband, Clayton, of Toddville, and Sheila Kostman of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, LeRoy Banks, in 1987. |
