-Henry Fredrich “Heinie” Bowman-

Henry Fredrich ‘Heinie’ Bowman, age 97, formerly of Oakville and Burlington, died Monday evening, December 25, 2006, at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center at Wapello. The son of Henry Harvey and Edith Senf Bowman, he was born November 21, 1909, at Burlington. He married Virginia Birkenstock on September 8, 1930, at Burlington. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1993.
He attended the Fairview Country School north of Burlington and completed through 9th grade at Burlington High School.

Henry worked for the CB&Q Railroad in the yards at Burlington and the shops in West Burlington and also at the IAAP as an inspector.

He served in the US Navy during World War II.

Heinie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading. He loved his family and friends in Oakville.

He was a former member of the Bethany Lutheran Church at Burlington and currently a member of the Oakville Community Bible Church formerly known as the Church of God Holiness at Oakville. He belonged to the Masons.

He is survived by his son, James and Karen Bowman of McAllen, Texas; his grandson, Steven Bowman of Oakville; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Ashley, and Lisa; and two great-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ryne.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Virginia.

He will be cremated and services are currently pending with the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello.
