-Evan Massey-

Evan Alan ‘Roy’ Massey, of Mediapolis and Wapello, died Friday evening, January 6, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City. The son of Kirk Alan Massey and Jessie Renae Smith, he was born November 16, 2001 at Iowa City.

He loved life, always with a smile and eager to learn. He enjoyed sponge Bob and the various farm activities in his cowboy boots. He loved his Aunt Jenny’s mule, Cole, Bob the coonhound, and Grizzly. He was an active little boy that always wanted to be involved, such as working in the garden with his great-grandpa. His favorite song was ‘Honky Tonk, Bedonky Donk’. He anticipated going duck hunting and was prepared with his camo clothes. He liked the color green and enjoyed watching his dad race cars.

He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Tracy and Steve Orr of Mediapolis and Dugan and Lynette Smith of Wapello; his maternal grandmothers, Shirley Lesnet of Sperry and Della Waddell of Wapello; his maternal great-great grandmother, Ollie Wright of Wapello; his paternal grandparents, Connie Massey and Kenny Fletcher of Wapello and Jim and Geri Massey of Oakville; his paternal great-grandparents, Russell ‘Skip’ and Dorothy Timmerman of Wapello and Tom Fletcher of Wapello, William ‘Jr.’ and Paul Massey of Burlington, and Tom and Judy Wykert of Oakville; aunts and uncles.

The funeral ceremony for him will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday and 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating. Burial will follow Thursday funeral at the Wapello Cemetery.
