Mary “Cathy” McBride, 41, of Marion, Iowa, was found dead on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Linn County, Iowa.
Memorial services for Cathy were Sunday, July 8, 2007, at 1:00 pm at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Rev. Catherine Whitlatch officiated. There was no visitation. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Cathy’s name. Burial will take place at a later date. Mary Cathrine McBride was born December 13, 1965, in Iowa City, the daughter of John Paul and Veronica (Jennings) McBride. On September 8, 1985, Cathy was united in marriage to Gary Clester in Columbus Junction. They later divorced. Cathy worked at Lebeda Mattress Manufacturing. She enjoyed heavy metal music, driving cars, sewing, cross stitching, and spending time with her family. Cathy especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Cathy will be dearly missed by her parents, John Paul McBride, Jr. of Muscatine and Veronica McBride of Iowa City; her children, Matthew John McBride of Roseville, CA, Linda Elizabeth Walters and her husband, J.D. of Marion, IA, Joshua Alexander McBride and his wife, Jodi of Wapello, and Haley Anastasia McBride of Marion, IA; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Ethan and Alexander; 3 sisters, Ann Martinez and husband, Vicente’ of Columbus Junction, Christine Poe and husband, John of Crawfordsville and Cindy Johnston and husband, Bob of Columbus Junction; 1 brother, Rick McBride and wife, Renee’ of North Liberty; and many nieces and nephews.
Cathy was preceded in death by her grandparents and 1 nephew, D.J. Willenbring.
