Bonnie Jean McFarland, age 66, of Ainsworth died Monday, March 26, 2007 at her residence following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Scott Nesbitt officiating. Interment will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening. Bonnie was born November 27, 1940 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Winfred “Pud” and Arlene “Irene” (Houseal) Norenberg. She attended Country School in Washington County and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1959. Bonnie was united in marriage to Billy Wade McFarland on August 8, 1959 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Bonnie worked at Owens Brush, Washington Care Center for 15 years, was a daycare provider, and lastly worked at Ainsworth Four Corners retiring in 1993. Bonnie was baptized at Pleasant Hill Christian Church. She enjoyed cookie, baking pies, knitting, crocheting, and shopping for antiques.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Shari Lynn Butler and her husband, Tony of Ainsworth; a son, Robert Bruce McFarland and his wife, Linda of Ainsworth; a son, Kevin Wade McFarland and Dina of Riverside; son, Jeffrey Allen McFarland and wife, Tracy of Kirksville, Missouri; daughter, Julie Renee Harland and husband, Jeff of Kalona; daughter, Stefanie Sue Swartzendruber and husband, Chris of Kalona; grandchildren, T.J. Butler, Bonnie Kate McFarland, Amber, Tyler and Breanna McFarland, Austin and Billie Jo McFarland, Kyle and Maddy Harland, Jake and Maggie Swartzendruber; 1 great-grandson, Quintyn Rocha; 7 step grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren; her mother, Arlene Norenberg of Washington; and two sisters, Judy Prior and husband, Larry of Columbus Junction; and Sue Wagner of Washington.
