-Lloyd Moran-Lloyd Moran, 90 of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at his home. Lloyd Lee Moran was born August 12, 1917, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Warnie Lee and Ocie Mae (McFarland) Moran. On December 31, 1938, Lloyd was united in marriage to Evelyn Irene Diller in Muscatine, Iowa. Lloyd was a US Navy veteran of World War II serving from 1943-1945. He worked as a master carpenter for Martindale Construction which was sub-contracted by Monsanto for many years. He was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church, Mason Lodge #107 AF – AM of Columbus City, KAABA Shriners and a lifetime member of the Allen Wright Hanft American Legion Post #100, where he served as past commander, and the V.F.W. Lloyd enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, dancing and spending time with his family. Lloyd will be dearly missed by his son, Ronald Moran and his wife, Jean of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren, Joyce, Tina, Randal, Judy, Rocky, Susan, Bridgett and Michelle; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Bill Moran and wife, Beth of Independence, MO; and 3 sisters, Marguerite Malle of Pittsburg, KS, Janet Cowger of Mediapolis, IA and Velma Hamilton and husband, Bob of Montezuma, IA. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn in January 1986; a daughter, Sandra Mincks; 3 sisters, Verna Maude Moran, Ruth Sanden and Bettie Oakes; and a brother, Jakie Moran.
