-Terry Alan Rowald-

Terry Alan Rowald, age 52, of Wapello, Iowa, died Sunday morning, January 7, 2007, at his home. The son of Barnell H. and Helen A. Burmeister Rowald, he was born October 17, 1954, at Cedar Rapids. He married Connie Schminke Steadman on June 11, 1988, at Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

Terry graduated from Lincoln High School in Stanwood. He attended an auto mechanics school in Missouri. Terry was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s United Church of Christ at Clarence.

He had worked at a NAPA store in Cedar Rapids and later at the auto parts store in Wapello. In more recent years, Terry and Connie had owned and operated the R Place bar and grill at Wapello.

He was a former member of the Circle of Pride Motorcycle Club. He loved his motorcycles and his music as he played in various bands for many years. He enjoyed boating and his dogs. Terry loved his family and their times together.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; his parents, Barnell and Helen Rowald of Clarence; a daughter, Carrie Rowald of Spencer; two stepsons, Jeff and Carrie Steadman of Marion, and Aaron Steadman of Maryville, Tennessee; three step granddaughters; and his mother-in-law, Adah Schminke of Independence. He was preceded in death by father-in-law, Gerald Schminke.

The funeral ceremony for Terry Rowald will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, with Marvin Hardy officiating. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery.

The family will meet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Juvenile Diabetes Association and the Wapello Rescue Unit.
