-Harold L. Schrier-Harold L. Schrier, 73, of Columbus Junction, Iowa died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Washington County Hospital. Inurnment will be in the Columbus City Cemetery at a later date. Sympathy notes may be left to the Schrier family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Harold Lee Schrier was born March 24, 1934, in Bellwood, Nebraska, the son of Jesse A. and Clara (Brase) Schrier. On May 13, 1957, Harold was united in marriage to Margareta Gmeiner in Germany. Harold was a US Army veteran of Korea, serving in Germany. He was a member of the V.F.W. AFGE Local 2773. Harold was a very active person. He enjoyed woodworking and the outdoors. Harold liked to golf, bowl, camp and travel, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was employed at Rath Packing Co. and later retired as the Consumer Safety Inspector for the USDA. Harold will be dearly missed by his wife, Margareta “Greta” of Columbus Junction; children, Renate Skubal and husband, Randy of Columbus Junction, James Schrier and wife, Tammy of Washington, Iowa and David Schrier and wife, Tessa of Muscatine; and nine grandchildren, Briana and Amanda Skubal, Stevie Schrier, and Colton, Cami, Christian, Hailey and Gracie Schrier; and step-grandchildren, Jessica and Ashley Timmins. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lloyd Schrier. |
