-Luciel Verink-

E. Luciel Verink of Letts died, Monday February 5, 2007 at the Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Walden Askren will officiate. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the services a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Community Room at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation for Luciel will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the Louisa County Ambulance Service in memory of Luciel. Sympathy notes may be left for the Verink family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Evelyn Luciel Hogan was born on February 10, 1918 in Eliza, Illinois the daughter of Joseph and Lola (Fuller) Hogan. On February 10, 1937, Luciel was united in marriage to John H. Verink. Luciel was a farm wife who enjoyed sewing and cooking, but most of all; she dearly loved to spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Luciel will be deeply missed by her son, Tim Verink and his wife, Linda, of Letts; daughter, Bonnie D. Hinkson of Letts; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Laurel Goettsch of Blue Grass.

Luciel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 2003; and one son, William Verink and one brother, Joseph Hogan.
