Jerry A. Zellmer, 52, of Muscatine, died Friday, January 25, 2008, at his home in Muscatine. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 10:30 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Gertie Nichols will officiate. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Musserville United Methodist Church. Visitation was Tuesday, January 29, 2008, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the the Musserville United Methodist Church or family choice in memory of Jerry. Sympathy notes may be left for the Zellmer family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Jerry Allen Zellmer was born on June 4, 1955, in Muscatine, the son of Don W. and Carolyn J. (Lee) Zellmer. Jerry was employed at Hon Oaksteel as a forklift driver for several years. He enjoyed swimming, fishing, listening to music, NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr., and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his mother, Carolyn Zellmer of Muscatine; his sister, Nonie Wertzbaugher and her husband, John of Atalissa; his maternal grandmother, Velma Lee of Columbus Junction; two nieces, Michelle Metzger and her husband, Rick of Muscatine and Morgan Penderson of Muscatine; one nephew, Corporal Derek Penderson of Camp Pendleton; one great-niece, Kelsey Metzger and two great-nephews, Brandon Metzger and Jackson Ferguson

He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandfather, Arthur “Red” Lee; paternal grandparents, Hugo Zellmer and Wilma and Louie Stanbro; and one great-niece, Kenda Metzger in infancy.
