-Arlene Carol Schultz-

Arlene Carol Schultz, age 66, of Columbus Junction, died Sunday afternoon, April 20, 2008, at her home. The daughter of Gertrude Jeanette Reichert and Clifford Walter Brown, she was born February 9, 1942. Arlene married M. C. Fuller on March 1, 1961. She later married the love of her life, Albert L. ‘Sonnie’ Schultz on June 3, 1993 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa.

She was a member of the first graduating class of the Louisa-Muscatine High School in 1960. She was a cheerleader. She was a member of the Green Valley Hustlers 4-H Club for 11 years and became co-leader of the club. She helped organize and start the Island Boys 4-H Club. She won several awards including the State award for Better Grooming. The biggest thrill of her life was riding on a submarine in 1961 in Hawaii.

Arlene obtained an AA degree from Muscatine Community College in 1985.

She loved to sew, quilt, garden her many varieties of plants and flowers and spent numerous hours on tracing her family genealogy to be handed down for generations to come.

Arlene is survived by her mother, Gertrude Brown of Columbus Junction; her loving husband, Sonnie; her five children, Beth Ann and Ron Schnoebelen of Riverside, Tammara ‘Tammi’ and Monte Pugh of Columbus Junction, Timothy Fuller and Tammy Verzi of Columbus Junction, Christine Schultz of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Brenda and Rich Wamsley of Wever; her ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Matt Jackson, Jessica Buffington, Stephanie Schnoebelen, Kalena Pugh and Jason Churchwell, Eric Pugh, Jeanetta Fuller, Curtis Fuller, Andrew Wamsley, Alex Wamsley, and Amy Wamsley; four-great-grandchildren, Dylan Pugh-Staats, and Allyssia, Jayden, and Jace Jackson; her Godson, Gabe Brown; her extended family Paul, Amanda, Kimberly, Michele, and Amie Dacy; two brothers, Keith Brown of Muscatine and Dennis and Kathy Brown of Cape Coral, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Brown; a daughter, Kimberly Schultz; two sisters-in-law, Riva Brown and Joan Brown; a niece, Valarie Brown; and two nephews, Michael and Joseph.

  The funeral ceremony for Arlene Schultz will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello with Pastor Ramona Wink officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery, Grandview.

  The family will meet friends from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.

  A Memorial Fund has been established for the Iowa City Hospice.
