-Everett Lewis Vincent-

E. Lewis Vincent, 78, of Conesville died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness.

Graveside services for Lewis will be 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Lone Tree Cemetery followed by an 11:00 A.M. memorial service at the Grace United Church of Christ in Conesville.  Rev. Rick Crooks will officiate.  Visitation for Lewis was held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. with a 7:30 P.M. Masonic Service, conducted by Jack Martin, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Grace United Church of Christ, Dialysis Center and First Responders in memory of Lewis.  Online condolences for the Vincent family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Everett Lewis Vincent was born on February 2, 1930 in Cedar County, Iowa the son of Everett and Ada (Albin) Vincent.  He graduated from West Branch High School in 1949.  On December 6, 1953, Lewis was united in marriage to Janet Kral in Lone Tree.  They farmed and raised their family on the family farm near Conesville. 

Lewis was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Conesville where he served as an Elder and board member.  He was the President of the local Lincoln Mutual Insurance Company, Master Mason, Worthy Patron Eastern Star, School Board member of Columbus Community and 4-H Leader.  He was an avid Columbus Community Wildcat and Iowa fan, especially Iowa Women softball and basketball team.  He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events, spending time with his beloved wife and family.  His hobby was woodworking and playing cards with friends and family.

Lewis will be dearly missed by his wife, Janet of Conesville; one son, Randy Vincent and his wife, DeeAnne of Conesville; three daughters, Roxanne Lindaman and her husband, Vince of Ackley, Venita Currie and her husband, Bob of Ames and Nola Riley and her husband, Mike of Iowa City; nine grandchildren, Austin, Kelsey and Morgan Vincent; Lindsay and Valerie Lindaman; Courtney and Nolan Currie; Ashlin and Adison Riley; one brother, Gene Vincent and his wife, Nancy of West Branch; one niece and several nephews.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Chester and three nephews, Jack Vincent, Shawn Stonebarger and Vince Stonebarger.
