Kathryn L. Morrison, 84, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her home in Columbus Junction.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Rev. Al Coffin will officiate. Casket Bearers will be Kathryn’s grandsons, Robert Gray, Jr., Jerome Gray, Nikkolas Gray, Kenneth O’Donnell, Bill Bright, Noel Bright and James Bright, Jr. Honorary Casket Bearers will be her granddaughters, Stephanie (Gray) Williams, Kimberly (O’Donnell) Carney, Barbara (Bright) Smith and Susan (Bright) Duttlinger. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th from 4-7:00 P.M. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Kathryn Dwinell was born October 8, 1924 in Columbus Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel A. and Maude E. (Stump) Dwinell. In December 1944 Kathryn was united in marriage to Charles R. Bright who preceded her in death October 31, 1952. On December 28, 1962 Kathryn married R. F. “Bo” Morrison, Jr. in Columbus Junction. She held various jobs, including working at Smithcraft for many years and Ross Dry Goods for over 20 years. Kathryn was a 60 plus year member of the Silver Leaf Rebekah Lodge #394 and a 50 plus year member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She was a member of the Iowa City Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant and received the Decoration of Chivalry. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary for 52 years and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Etude Club. Kathryn was also a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and served on the Memorial Committee, played in the Bell Choir and was a member of the Susanna Circle.

Kathryn will be dearly missed by her husband, Bo, of Columbus Junction; her daughters, Terry K. (Kenneth) Higgins of Fulton, Missouri and Patricia (Marlin) O’Donnell of Columbus Junction; her sons, James “Ed”(Sharon) Bright, Robert (Kathy) Bright of Fredonia and R.F. “Skip” Morrison, III of Iowa City; 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; her sister, Margaret E. “Bette” Linville of Columbus Junction; and many other family members and friends.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two brothers; and a great grandson.
