Frank Gregan, 81 of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Monday, September 15, 2008 in his home.

Mass of the Resurrection for Frank will be Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 10:30 A. M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbus Junction. Rev. Paul Appel will officiate. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Following the interment services a time of food and fellowship will be served at the Allen Wright Hanft American Legion Post #100. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. lead by Rev. Joseph Sia. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Frank’s name. Sympathy notes may be left to the Gregan family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Francis Daniel Gregan was born March 18, 1927 in Keswick, Iowa, the son of Patrick and Mary (O’Rourke) Gregan. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was united in marriage to Martha Peiffer on October 3, 1953 in Keota, IA. Frank worked for the Natural Gas Pipeline, beginning his career in Plainfield, IL, then in Mendota, IL, and finally being transferred to the Columbus Junction facility. Frank was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbus Junction since 1964, a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion. Frank enjoyed yard work, camping, nature, gardening and the Rocky Mountains, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Frank will be dearly missed by his wife, Martha of Columbus Junction; his children, Joan Russett and her husband Steve of Monona, IA, Deb Lassise and her husband Mark of Mason City, Sheila Gregan of Des Moines, IA, Terry Gregan and his wife Carole of Highlands Ranch, CO and Tim Gregan and his wife Margie of Omaha, NE; 12 grandchildren, Sarah Russett Remke, Anne Russett, Alex Gandrow, Sam Lassise, Max Lassise, Hannah Lassise, Emily Gregan, Audrey Gregan, Nathan Lassise, Isabel Gregan, Ben Gregan and Iris Gregan.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Tom, Raymond and Jim Gregan, and two sisters, Helen White and Kate Dumont.
